We took a little trip! 9 day holiday with Jet 2 to Lanzarote.
The child minder got married and went on honeymoon so I took advantage of the opportunity to go on holiday without paying child care fees! This is our 3rd trip with Jet 2, I really like the good luggage allowance, and freed child places. However, it annoys me that I have to put my daughter as being with my parents and not me to get the free child space. So despite there being 3 adults she has to be booked in their room, as it states there must be 2 adults. This caused confusion when we arrived at the hotel.
We stayed at HG Lomo Blanco overall the place was nice. Apartments were spacious, beds comfy just a bit to high for a toddler!
There was a small kitchen area, good enough for cooking some holiday snacks!
Shower was big and water pressure good but there was a smell to the bathroom.
We were placed in one room (next to my parents) but it was opposite a building site! It was really loud and dusty so we asked to move and moved about half way through our stay.
Overall staff were polite and helpful.
We ate a few times in the pool bar, they did some nice smoothies. My parents drank in the bar but I didn’t go in.
There was no WIFI, I was told there isn’t any but my Mum overheard them saying it as 12 Euros a day, I find this very odd for 2023!!!!
The location was away from the main street which made it quieter but did mean walking down hills to the main street and then up hill to get back! There was a Mall called Socco and you could use the lift in the car park which avoided some of the hill walking!
What we did:
To be honest we spent a lot of time at the pool or watching CBeebies and playing with the pram! To clarify toddlersorous watched CBeebies and I sat outside and she also played with her pram lots as she missed her dollys pram that we have at home!
We spent quite a lot of time in the pool, annoyingly the big cool was cold but toddler didn’t like the warm small pool so we had to do lots of bouncing around to keep warm!
There is also a small park at the accommodation.

We also did some water play using pots and pans. Full disclosure I would have allowed her to do the same thing at home, I just washed the pot with soap and then rinsed with boiling water.

We had a couple of visits to the beach, be warned the sand gets very hot. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas. There is a really clean toilet block. There are a few guys who come down and sell water and ice cream and I also saw them go off and get fresh cocktails and beer for people.
We visited Rancho Texas Park, it is quite pricey but they do a free shuttle bus that picks up from a number of places in the morning and then picks up 5ish. The main attraction is Dolphins, I’ll be honest I didn’t really think it through or read enough before I went. The main attractions are the Dolphin show, Seal show, Bird shows. The other animals I was really disappointed with how small the pens were. They had a white Tiger which again makes me uncomfortable. The best bit of the park is the water park which has 3 pools, one with a massive bucket that tips over every few minutes and sends over a lot of water! There is a small pool with a little slide in and a third pool which is more of a pool for swimming. There is also a bigger slide that I didn’t go on. Around the edges there are lots of sun beds.

Places to eat (all with gluten free options):
Restaurante Universo
Indian Aroma – not my best dinner ever!
Great Asia Restaurant
Restaurant Casa Parmigiano – Little bit posh! We turned up in our beach gear!
Highlander Too
We found a great little soft play in the nearby mall (Biosfera Plaza Shopping Centre), todderlasorous loved it! Luckily we found it near the end of the holiday but we spent quite a few happy hours me reading and her playing! There is a soft play bit and a trampoline part.

The dolphin round about was a definite favourite.
We didn’t venture far we all just needed some time out and sun! But the island has lots to offer and I would love to go back and take a tour around the island.
