A friend and I made a fairly last minute decision to go away for the weekend I wanted to surf and she wanted somewhere she could explore while I surfed.
She requested Bournemouth and despite being there twice before I agreed.

I booked a hotel the day before we left on lastminute.com, I found a surf school but unfortunately we had chosen a weekend with no waves!

We also chose the weekend of the Bournemouth marathon festival, yes this is a thing! We managed to time our walk along the beach pretty well, until it was time to turn back and we had to merge with the runners. Bournemouth has a long flat stretch of beach to walk along we got as far as Poole before turning back. The beach is lovely and I imagine on a sunny day could rival that of a beach abroad.

Once we had spent the Saturday in Bournemouth we decided we had seen all we needed and it was time to move on so we went to one of my favourite places…Durdle door.

Places to eat in Bournemouth:

Chineside for a cake stop on your beach walk – http://www.chineside.co.uk/

Mad Cucumber for all your vegan needs – http://www.madcucumber.com/

Cosy Club for dinner

Durdle Door – see my other blog post for details on parking etc,
